I have not written for many months, which makes my writing skill goes down. However, I am trying to grasp my writing skills once again. In this post, I would like to disclose my 1-year trading performance using XM as my platform to make sure that Forex Jed not only blabbering theoretical regarding forex but also applying it in practice.
If you have seen my post previously, I usually used the IQ Option platform to trade forex. However, after getting a taste of MT5 which is Meta Trader 5 I find that using XM through MT5 is more suitable for me as it is easy for me to monitor my trade through my phone. First, let me brief a little on forex trading.
Forex Trading is Not a Get-Rich-Quick Scheme
A lot of you may think that forex trading is a get-rich-quick scheme. Well, I was thinking like that at first during my first year of trading when I saw a huge gain from the "full margin" or "all in" trading video that is ubiquitous on social media and YouTube which that kind of video is like "trading" in the market with the mindset of a gambler.
Time after time while reading a book written by Alexander Elder, I realized that people who are like this have ultimate intention behind it such as attracting green leaf traders to sell them their "too good to be true course" while in fact most of them cannot trade and are only good in theory.
With no further explanation, let me wake you up from your fantasy of "getting rich quickly with forex" by showing you my growth in one year.
My 1-Year Trading Performance with XM (2022-2023)
Boom, here is my 1-year performance in percentage and not the USD as I am still an ordinary trader and also want to prevent unnecessary trouble that might happen if I disclose it. As you can see, in one year I only get 13 percent. However, I think 13 percent in one year from swing trading is normal enough and I am comfortable with the results with less intervention unlike scalping and day trading.
What makes me comfortable is compound interest which plays an important part in growing a trading account. Imagine year after year that 13 percent can rise up to 100 percent or even more if you have patience. Moreover, if you trade with a huge amount of money the result will be a big chunk of profit even if it is only 13 percent but make sure to verify your broker (of its regulation particularly) if you want to put a huge amount of money to trade.
Bonus: 1-Month With My New Strategy (2023)
Well, I created a new account to forward test my new strategy, and here is what I gained, 18 percent in a month. Even if it is a fast gain, I know that Mr. Market would not just sit down and let me be greedy. Do you still remember my previous post regarding the analogy of turtle and rabbit here?
Conclusion
Forex trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme if you trade with good money management and do remember if you use a gambling mindset to approach the market the effect would be destructive enough to you. Swing trading is my comfortable style as I do not have to look at the chart continuously like scalping or day trading, it also has less psychological pressure and stable return. Compound interest is fascinating in growing any trading account and those who utilize it will get the most rewarding growth.
